Dan Davis
Lead Pastor

Dan grew up in a Christian home and was taught about Jesus since he was born. When Dan was 7 years old, he realized that he was a sinner in need of a Savior, and accepted Christ as the only one who could be that Savior. Dan's dad led him to the Lord one night in his bedroom at home. When in high school, Dan grew in Christian maturity and became a leader in his youth group.

While on a mission trip in Thailand, Dan surrendered his life to full-time ministry and immediately transferred to seminary where he continued to develop his gifts in teaching and leadership. In 2011 Dan graduated from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary with his Bachelors in Christian Ministry, married his childhood sweetheart Crista, then moved to Asia to disciple college students and plant churches.

Dan and Crista came back to the sates in January 2014. After spending a few weeks with family, they traveled from Louisiana with a uHaul and all their belongings to come to North Tonawanda, in April of that year, to be part of the leadership team at Renewal Church; fulfilling the Great Commission by sharing the Gospel here in Western New York. Dan has been working on his Master of Divinity from Southeastern Seminary in North Carolina, has been a vital part of the continuing growth of this new work, and in March 2016, the leadership of Renewal Church prayed and laid hands on Pastor Dan to become the lead pastor of this congregation.

"I believe it's the mission of the church to glorify God by making disciples of all nations, and the job of the pastors and staff to shepherd God’s people and equip the saints for the work of the ministry. As a minister of the Gospel, I am committed to preaching the sound doctrine of the grace and truth of the Gospel and setting an example of servant-leadership to those I disciple, nurturing them into spiritually mature disciple makers."

Dick Murphy
Pastor of Teaching and Worship

Born and raised in a Christian home in the Rochester, New York area, Dick accepted Christ as His Savior at a Christian Service Brigade meeting when he was in the 4th grade. He attended Wheaton College where he began to participate actively in ministry on a regular basis.  After graduation, Dick married his wife, Mary Ann, and worked full-time in a para-church ministry organization for nearly two years.  The two eventually settled in the Buffalo area where Dick attended and graduated from the University of Buffalo School of Law.  Upon graduation he began the full-time practice of law, and continues that practice in the Western New York area to this day.  Over the years, he engaged in various ministries and outreach ventures ever since, both within and outside the local church, served as a Bible teacher and served in various positions and on Boards at  the local churches he has attended over the years.  In the midst of this busy life, he and his wife became the parents of 3 children, and now are the grandparents of 5 beautiful grandchildren.

In the late 1990s, after some months of thought, prayer, and discussions with his wife, Dick came to understand his call from God to pastoral ministry.  This call of God led to his serving part-time as Pastor of Discipleship at Randall Church from January 2000 until January 2014 when he transitioned from Randall Church to Renewal Church, having been integrally involved in the planning for and planting of Renewal Church by Randall.  While at Randall, Dick sought after and was fully ordained into the gospel ministry by the church in July 2007.

Dick writes, “It is my joy to serve the congregation here at Renewal, helping with the teaching responsibilities, heading up the worship aspects of our services, and joining with Pastor Dan and the elders and pastors at Randall Church in carrying out the ministry of the gospel in North Tonawanda and the surrounding community.  I cannot think of being any place more rewarding than at Renewal Church, serving my Lord Jesus with all of my heart, soul and strength.”
